CLEVELAND, Ohio - Trinity University finished 27th and DePauw University finished 39th - among 430 institutions - in the prestigious 2008-2009 Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. Complete NACDA Release
Trinity amassed 485.75 points in the standings, based on NCAA
postseason competition, while DePauw totaled 366.85 points.
Williams College won its 11th consecutive all-sports cup with
1,066.50 points. The Directors' Cup program is administered by the
National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics
(NACDA).
Other SCAC schools in the final rankings include Oglethorpe
University (164.00 points - tied 117th), Centre College (150.00
points - tied for 130th), Southwestern University (144.00
points - tied for 134th), Millsaps College (103.00 points - tied
for 164th), Colorado College (50.00 points - tied for 237th), and
Hendrix College, Rhodes College and Sewanee-The University of the
South (all with 25.00 points and tied at 276th).
Heading into the spring, Trinity was ranked 15th but was the only SCAC school in the top 100.
