STERLING, Va. - Trinity University's Luke Caldarera and Krista Prato Matthews as well as DePauw University's Mike Moore were named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for thier performaces during games played from December 29 through January 4.
Moore, who earned his first National Team of the Week honor, scored 30 points in a win against Centre as part of a week in which he averaged 20.3 points, 5.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds. He shot 8-for-20 from three-point range and 17-for-19 from the line.
Caldarera averaged 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last week, adding eight assists and three blocks. He hit 21-for-36 (.583) from the field and 8-for-10 (.800) from the foul line in the three games. Against Hendrix, Caldarera was 11-for-14 from the field for 27 points and 10 rebounds. This is his second National Team of the Week honor this season.
Prato Matthews had a double-double in all four of Trinity's games. She averaged 19.3 points and 15.5 rebounds, including 39 points and 20 rebounds against Hendrix. Prato Matthews shot 52 percent from the floor and averaged 2.75 blocks. Her 39 against Hendrix were the most points in a single game since Trinity's Jennifer Warren scored 40 against Rhodes on January 20, 1995. This is Prato Matthews' second National Team of the Week honor this season.
