Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL) have bolstered their stable of recruits with the addition of three imports who will challenge for work when training camp opens next month, including former Millsaps College standout WR/KR Chris Jackson.
As per team policy, details of the agreements are not
disclosed.
“We continue to come to agreements with outstanding young men
that are interested in earning the right to wear a Blue Bomber
jersey and represent the City of Winnipeg,” head coach Mike
Kelly said.
Jackson went undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft, but spent time with
the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans
Saints mini-camps before leaving for the CFL in the summer of
2007.
The Phenix City, Ala., native spent time on the Toronto Argonauts
practice roster in 2007 before spending last season with the
Calgary Stampeders where he caught four passes for 44 yards and a
score in three games.
In his only year at Millsaps in 2006, Jackson led the Majors in
receiving yards (693), catches (65) and nine scores. He also added
832 yards in kickoff and punt returns for three more scores en
route to earning SCAC Special Teams Player of the Year honors.
