RUTH HILL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Abilene, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, February 13 to Sunday, February 19. SCAC Women's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 3
Hill patrolled the first line of singles through both matches of the 16th-ranked Tigers' SCAC-opening Saturday against Texas Lutheran and St. Thomas. Hill earned a shutout set in each match as she produced back-to-back straight-sets victories over TLU's Elena Brancaleon (6-3, 6-0) and UST's Anamaria Gonzalez (6-0, 7-5).
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Nina Mitrofanova of Southwestern defeated Erin Kittredge of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 6-1, 6-1, in the Pirates' 7-2 team victory. She also picked up a big win in an exhibition match against UT-Rio Grande Valley, finally earning the 16-14 third set decider on her sixth match point.
