CLEVELAND, Ohio - Trinity University posted a league-best 34th place finish in the final 2011-12 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. Complete NACDA Release
Trinity amassed 422 points in the standings, based on NCAA postseason competition, while Birmingham-Southern College totaled 347.25 points to place second among SCAC schools - 45th overall. Centre College finished with 308 points for a 55th place finish.
Middlebury College won its first-ever all-sports cup
with 1,040.75 points. The Directors' Cup program is administered by
the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics
(NACDA).
Other SCAC schools in the final rankings include Colorado
College (157.00 points - 126th), Oglethorpe
University (125 points - tied for 151st), Sewanee-The
University of the South (69.50 points - 215th), Rhodes
College (40 points - 265th), Southwestern
University (25 points - tied for 272nd) and Hendrix College (5
points - tied for 317th).
The 2011-12 athletics season marks the fourth year that
