MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Hendrix College senior infielder Clark Sims was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his stellar play the week of March 12-18, the website announced.
Sims led the Warriors to a perfect 3-0 recurd uring the week.
The North Little Rock, Ark. native hit .636 with a 1.091 slugging and .733 on-base percentage to help Hendrix extend its winning streak to seven games through Sunday. He was 7-for-11 with a double, two triples, two RBI and eight runs scored.
Against Ozarks (Ark.) on March 14, Sims was 3 for 5 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI.
In an SCAC series against Southwestern March 17-18 Sims batted .667 (4 for 6) with six runs scored, a double, triple and an RBI.
For the season Sims is hitting .427 (35 for 82) with seven doubles, four triples, 11 RBI and is slugging at a .610 clip.
He becomes the second SCAC baseball student-athlete named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week during the 2012 season joining Birmingham-Southern College's Bruce Maxwell, who was named to the team last week.
