BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Top seed Trinity University will square off against third seeded Centre College tomorrow at 11 a.m. CT for the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer championship.
Game One
Trinity scored in the game's fourth minute and added four more on the way to a 5-0 win over Rhodes in the afternoon’s first SCAC Women’s Soccer Semifinal match. The Tigers improved to 19-0, while Rhodes closes out the season with a 10-7-2 record. BOX SCORE
Kelly Watts put the Tigers on the board at 3:23 before Lauren Henderson made it 2-0 at 36:49. Freshman Stephanie Segovia who assisted on Watts’ goal notched a score of her own in the second half at 74:45. The final two Tiger goals were unassisted scored by Tara Sparks and Emily Jorgens.
Trinity outshot the Lynx, 25-4 and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. Katie Garrett and Lauren Goldberg of Trinity combined for teams 16th shutout of the season in net for Tigers. Senior Stephanie Sermonet totaled nine saves in goal for Rhodes.
Laura Fink led the Lynx with two shots in a losing effort.
Trinity advances to play in tomorrow’s SCAC Women’s Soccer Championship Match against Centre in search of their third straight SCAC Title and trip to the NCAA Tournament. Tomorrow’s championship match from the BSC Soccer Park on the campus of Birmingham-Southern.
After the match SCAC Director of Communications Russell Kramer caught up with both head coaches along with Trinity Senior Kelly Watts.

Game Two
Aubrey Holle's overtime goal lifted Centre to a 2-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal win over host Birmingham-Southern and into Sunday's championship game. BOX SCORE
The Colonels, ranked 22nd in the latest coaches' poll, will face Trinity ranked third in the same poll on Sunday at 11 a.m. from the BSC Soccer Park . The winner earns the conference's automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Championship.
Linda Amaya gave Birmingham-Southern a 1-0 lead at 41:49 before Centre knotted the score at 1-1 at 64:37 on Anne Mitchell's score.
Holle's game-winner came 5:11 into the second overtime on an assist from Mary Taylor Kersey.
Birmingham-Southern held a 22-19 edge in shots but Centre posted two more shots on target. Amber Hernandez of BSC totaled eight saves while Kelli Lenz posted siz saves for Centre. Centre totaled 10 corners to Birmingham-Southern’s eight.
Centre faced Trinity once in the regular season falling 2-1 in double overtime at home in Danville.
