CHANDLER, Ariz. - Centre's Patty Cowley was
recently added to the roster for the 2011 Division III Senior Game
by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Cowley, a senior goalkeeper from Louisville, Ky., will join teammate Jennifer Bohnert (Louisville, Ky.) in the event, which brings 58 of the nation's top seniors to Nichols College in Dudley, Mass. on Saturday. The participants will be split into three teams which will face each other in a series of 25-minute periods.
Cowley was an honorable mention selection by
the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and finished second in
the league in saves with 102 and shutouts with three. She earned
back-to-back Defensive Player of the Week nominations by the
conference on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3 during a stretch in which Centre
won five straight games.
Cowley helped lead Centre to a 11-8 overall record on the season
and a runner-up finish in the SCAC Tournament.
