Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Melissa Landon of Schreiner was solid all weekend in the backfield for the Mountaineers. She anchored a backline that allowed just two goals and helped lead Schreiner to its first win since 2019 in a 3-1 defeat of Ozarks to open the season. Junior goalkeeper Johnna Campbell of Southwestern made four saves in securing a shutout in the opening contest of the season, a 0-0 draw against MSOE. Senior goalkeeper Carmen Lozada of St. Thomas returned from injury last season to post a pair of victories in net for the Celts. She corralled one save over the weekend and helped St. Thomas get off to a 2-0 start for the first time since joining the SCAC.
