ALEJANDRA SANCHEZ DE LA FUENTE MOLINO OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Marbella, Spain, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, March 12. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 4)
Molino was the top individual finisher for Trinity at the Westbrook Invitational hosted by top-ranked George Fox as the Tigers finished in a fourth-place tie with the host school.
Molino scored a two-round total of 142 (68-74) to finish in a tie for sixth individually - just three shots off the individual medalist. She finished tied for fourth among the field with 26 total pars for the week.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Kimberly Burch of Dallas shaved six strokes off her round one score to shoot 78 on Tuesday, climbing four spots to finish in fourth place at the FST Invitational hosted by LeTourneau. Burch finished with a two-day score of 161 (+17). Senior Ryleigh Erickson of Southwestern finished in solo fifth place, carding 84 and 78, at the FST/LeTourneau Invitational. She was one and two shots behind the fourth and third-place competitors, respectively. First-year Mya Thompson of Centenary earned the Ladies' best finish at 48-over par 192 (93-99) to tie for 31st place at the FST/LeTourneau Invitational.
