JARED PERRY AND CONOR KACZMARCZYK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, April 14 through Sunday, April 20. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 12
Perry, a sophomore from Tucson, Ariz., and Kaczmarczyk, a junior from Aurora, Colo., were a perfect 3-0 while leading the Tigers to a 2-1 record over the weekend, splitting with two nationally-ranked teams, and finishing with a shutout in SCAC play against Colorado College. The Tiger doubles duo began the weekend with a 6-2 win at line three against #6 Emory University, setting the team up to take the doubles point. Perry and Kaczmarczyk came back the next morning against #17 Pomona-Pitzer and earned another 6-2 win at #3 to start off doubles action, which also helped Trinity take the doubles point. Against Colorado College, Perry and Kaczmarczyk moved up to #1 doubles and earned a 6-3 win that clinched the doubles point. The doubles partners are now 4-0 this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Daniel Beckles and sophomore Steven Scholz of Concordia (Texas) tallied a pair of victories in line two doubles for the Tornados over the weekend. In a conference matchup, they outlasted Lenny Lehmitz and Nate Beerman of Colorado College by a score of 7-6 (9-7). They then followed that performance up just a few hours later with a 6-3 triumph over Blake Bothmer and Jay Mallampati of Pomona-Pitzer. Junior Landon Sosebee and junior Sebastian Herrera of Southwestern picked up a No. 2 doubles win against their opponents from Colorado College over the weekend, posting a 6-0 sweep in their match.
