JESSICA MASON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Westminster, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, March 19. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 5)
Mason won medalist honors as the top individual finisher at the Texas Cup, shooting a two-day total of 148 (71-77) to win by one shot. It marks Mason's first individual win as a Tiger, joining Trinity's team for the Spring 2024 semester. Mason led the tournament with 26 pars out of 36 holes, adding three birdies, and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Kimberly Burch of Dallas fired rounds of 79 and 77 to finish at 156 (+12) and tied for seventh at the Texas Cup. Burch's final round 77 paced the Crusaders and moved her three places up the leaderboard. First-year Hailey Adams of Centenary was the top finisher for the Ladies on Tuesday at the Hal Sutton Invitational held at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, La. Adams shot a 40-over par 184 to finish 16th as she shot a 19-over par 91 in the final round after a 93 in Monday’s opening round. Junior Braydee Frederick of Texas Lutheran paced the Bulldogs on day two of the Hal Sutton Invitational with a 14-over 72 in the final round Tuesday. She finished the event 42-over and tied for 18th place in the 36-hole tournament.
