SARAH WILLIAMMEE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior right side from Denver, Colo., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 12 through Sunday, September 18. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 3)
Williammee earned her second Tournament MVP award on the season in last weekend's Trinity Fall Classic, a performance that included a team-high nine kills in the Tigers' four-set victory over No. 2 Juniata College Friday night. The senior collected a .400 hitting percentage en route to a team-high 24 kills for the weekend, on top of a 0.90 blocks per set rate.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore outside hitter Christina Kuras of Southwestern had a career-high 18 kills and 15 digs against #2 Juniata. Kuras, who averaged 2.36 kills per set over the weekend, is the staple of the Pirate's offense but is a great all-around player, playing defense just as consistently as her hitting game in and game out. First-year outside hitter Audrey Cataline of St. Thomas had an impressive weekend with 18 total kills and 22.5 total points. Cataline also helped lead the first-place Celts to two wins this weekend with four service aces (0.67 per set), a category which she leads the SCAC. Sophomore outside hitter Brylie Nedd of Texas Lutheran had 25 kills on .253 hitting percentage to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-1 week, including a victory over 2021 NCAA Tournament qualifier Scranton (Pa.). Nedd added six aces and 14 digs. Junior middle blocker/outside hitter Robin Lemelle of Centenary recorded 33 digs in the Ladies' three matches last week against Wiley College and Williams Baptist University. She played 10 sets and and added a pair of kills.
