MABEL FOWLER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Uvalde, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, January 24 to Sunday, January 30. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 10)
Fowler won four times in the Tigers' team victory over Southwestern on Saturday. She swam the backstroke leg (28.36) on the winning 200 medley relay (1:49.70), and went on to sweep the backstrokes touching in 59.63 in the 100 back and 2:07.41 in the 200 backstroke. Fowler also touched first in the 400 IM with a 4:39.47.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Brianna Serret of Centenary led the way for the Ladies with three individual wins on Saturday against Austin College. She won the 50 back (29.76), 50 free (26.43), and the 50 fly (27.86). She was also part of the 200 free relay team that won the event in a time of 1:48.25. Sophomore Zoe Garcia of Southwestern earned a victory against Trinity in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.43. She also was part of the Pirates' 200-yard freestyle relay. Senior Kristina Sullivan of McMurry notched wins in the 100 breastroke (1:17.15) and the 500 free (5:53.30) in the tri against Ozarks and Williams Baptist. She rounded out her day by placing third in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:10.00.
