JULISSA RODRIGUEZ OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Deer Park, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 4 through Sunday, March 10. It is the second consecutive week Rodriguez has received the honor. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 2
Rodriguez finished second in the Shot Put at the UTA Invitational with her throw of 11.46 meters (37'7 1/4"). She was the top collegiate finisher. Rodriguez also finished seventh in the Javelin with her throw of 29.97 meters (98'4").
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Erin Capell of Colorado College finished second in the shot put at the Oxy Distance Classic with a personal-best throw of 38'0.75". She also placed eighth in the discus at 105'9".
