CAMILLE SHERRILL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore outside hitter from Missoula, Mont., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 21 through Sunday, October 27. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 9)
Sherrill led the Tigers in kills against McMurry and Centenary and hit a career-high .714 against Centenary (10 kills, 0 errors, 14 attempts). For the weekend, she had 36 kills (4.50 per set), hit .516 and averaged 4.8 points per set and also added 17 digs and two aces in CC's three conference sweeps.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Fifth-year middle blocker Maddie Fate of Trinity was the MVP of the weekend for the Tigers in wins over #14 Southwestern, Randolph-Macon, and Concordia. She hit an astounding .514, had 19 kills (2.11 per set), and only had 1 hitting error in three matches. Against Southwestern, Fate collected eight kills, four blocks, and had a .467 hitting percentage. Against Concordia, Fate hit .667 and led the team with 10 kills while having zero hitting errors. Fate also was second on the team in total points (26) while also adding a team-best 13 blocks (1.4 bocks per set). Senior outside hitter Brylie Nedd of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs 14 kills (4.67 per set) in the team's only match of the week, a 3-0 sweep of Randolph-Macon. She hit .344 with just three errors in 32 total attacks. The senior also added three service aces and three digs. Senior right side TJ Folse of Austin College was outstanding in the 'Roos lone match last week, a 3-0 sweep of Centenary. Folse led AC with 13 kills, an average of 4.33 per-set, and a .444 attacking percentage. She also had a service ace, two total blocks, and seven digs in the win. Senior middle hitter Jordyn Braxton of Schreiner hit a combined .316 in two matches last week while averaging 3.00 kills per set in wins over Concordia and UMHB. She also added three blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Kendra Humphries of McMurry had 20 kills (2.22 per set) and hit .263, including .316 in two conference matches, as the War Hawks posted a 1-2 mark this week. She also had four blocks and seven digs.
