SEMAJ EDWARDS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior guard from Lanham, Md., has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday, November 18 through Sunday, November 23. SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 3)

Edwards tied a career-high with 29 points with six 3-pointers in a 70-67 upset win over #20 Hardin-Simmons as the Bulldogs posted a 2-0 week. Edwards averaged 25.5 points per game posting 22 against Southwestern and added 11 rebounds and two assists over the contests. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Kane Broussard of Centenary scored a season-high 17 points in a loss to Arlington Baptist. Broussard added 13 rebounds for an impressive double-double and finished 6-of-14 from the floor with three 3-pointers. He added three steals, two assists, and a pair of blocked shots. Senior Joey Ramirez of Concordia (Tex.) poured in a game-high 28 points to propel Concordia to a 107-96 win over #20 Hardin-Simmons. The senior shot an efficient 64.7 percent from the field with five free throws added. With the Tornados trailing 54-52 at the break, Ramirez was clutch down the stretch as he scored 20 of his 28 points in the second half. Senior Asher Nofziger of Colorado College led the Tigers with 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game against Pfeiffer and Mary Baldwin. Nofziger racked up a season-high 27 points and 14 rebounds against Pfeiffer and made the Charlie Cobb Classic All-Tournament Team with his performance over the weekend. Senior Jackson Mayes of LeTourneau averaged 24.5 points -- shooting 50 percent from the field -- in a 1-1 week for LeTourneau as he was consistent with 24 & 25 points in back-to-back contests. Mayes leads the SCAC in scoring and has scored at least 24 points in all four games this season. Junior JaRayl People of McMurry led the War Hawks with 27 points in a 100-98 win over Howard Payne. People shot 64.7 percent from the floor while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line and adding eight rebounds and three assists. First-year Vanya Nikolic of Ozarks (Ark.) was key against Westminster College coming off the bench scoring 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the three-point line. At the Webster Classic, Nikolic averaged 13.5 points, hit 44 percent from the three-point line and was named to the All-Tournament team for his performance.
