ISABEL OLSON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Middlebury, Vt., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 3 through Sunday, March 9. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 2
Olson broke the school record in the 5K Saturday at the outdoor season-opening Oxy Distance Carnival in Los Angeles. A Division III All-American in cross country last fall, Olson finished second overall and was the first collegiate finisher in the race with a time of 16:48.94, surpassing the old mark of 16:54.12 set by Kendall Accetta last season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Graduate student Naj Campbell of McMurry won the 100 hurdles in a time of 14.96 at the Hardin-Simmons/Nelson/McMurry tri-meet Thursday on the campus of HSU. Campbell also ran the lead-off leg of the first-place 4x100 relay team, which posted winning time of 51.28, and finished third in the 200 meters (27.18).
