ISABEL OLSON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Middlebury, Vt., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 8)
Olson won the Augustana Interregional Invitational in a program record of 21:07 for a 6k. She led second-ranked Colorado College to a 50-point win over five nationally ranked teams.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Breanna Steele of Southwestern had another great race this season, finishing 23rd overall in a highly competitive field at the Augustana Interregional. Not only was her time of 22:00 for 6k good enough for a 52 second PR, it was also a school record. She led the Pirates to a season-best team average of 24:55, nearly a minute faster than their previous 6k race. Junior Chloe Weathers of University of the Ozarks posted a second place finish at the Arkansas D3 Championship with a personal/season best and school record time of 18:23. She also led the Eagles to their second consecutive win while beating in-state rivalries. First-year Charlotte Martin of Trinity led the Tigers' women's cross country team to a 15th-place finish at the Augustana Interregional on Saturday. She shattered her previous PR by more than 50 seconds with a time of 23:02.4 to lead the way for Trinity. Junior Chloe McLellan of McMurry finished fifth to lead the War Hawks to a team victory over D1, D2 and D3 schools at Mississippi College's Watson Collegiate Classic. She ran the 6k in a personal-best 23:11.9.
