FAITH COLDEWEY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior libero/defensive specialist from Floresville, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, November 4 through Sunday, November 10. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 11)
Coldewey once again led the Bulldogs from the back row with two matches with 30+ digs, including a career-high 39 in Friday's 3-2 win over Colorado College. The senior averaged 7.75 digs per set for the weekend and also chipped in with nine service aces.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Graduate middle blocker Maddie Fate of Trinity led the 18th-ranked Tigers' volleyball team to three SCAC wins to close out the regular season schedule this weekend. Fate finished with nine blocks in just six sets played, leading the team in blocks and averaging 3.58 points per set. Fate also had 17 kills and a .567 hitting percentage. Senior libero/defensive specialist Kara Spice of St. Thomas tallied an impressive 79 digs, averaging 7.18 digs per set, and maintained a strong .857 reception rate, making her a vital asset in keeping opponents' offenses in check. Senior libero Geneva Nedrow of Southwestern recorded 64 total digs in three games played over the weekend, averaging 5.82 digs per set. On the offensive end, Nedrow assisted Pirate hitters 12 times with a high of seven assists in the Pirates five set win over McMurry. Sophomore defensive specialist/libero Meghan Gannon of Colorado College collected a team-high 26 digs versus TLU and had 12 assists during the weekend. Senior libero Hannah Page of McMurry averaged 4.75 digs per set as the War Hawks split their four matches over the week. She had 32 digs in a 3-2 win over Howard Payne and duplicated that output with 32 in McMurry's 3-2 loss to Southwestern.
