CHRISTIAN RODRIGUEZ OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, February 21. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 1)
Rodriguez earned individual medalist honors and led the Pirates to the team title at the San Antonio DIII Shootout, firing rounds of 69, 73 and 70, to finish at four under 212 and three shots clear of the closest competitor. He was one of only two players to post a score of under par during the final round that was conducted on the 7,435 Yards, Par 72 TPC Oaks Course.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Zhao Yung Gu of Schreiner fired rounds of 67, 61 and 77 to post a three-round score of 215 (-1) at the San Antonio DIII Shootout. He was one of just two golfers to finish the tournament under par. Senior Cade Kiser of St. Thomas paced the Celts with a three-day total of 226 (77-71-78) to finish tied for ninth at the San Antonio DIII Shootout.
