RYLEIGH ERICKSON OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a graduate student from McAllen, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Monday, September 9 through Tuesday, September 17. SCAC Golf Release (Week 1) 

Erickson led wire to wire, posting the lowest score each round of the SCAC Fall Preview at The New Course at White Bluff Golf Resort to earn medalist honors. The fifth-year, four-time All-SCAC golfer carded rounds of 76 and 73 to finish the 5,774-yard Par 72 course at 149 (+5), 11 shots clear of the tournament runner-up. Her performance led Southwestern to the team tournament title as the Pirates edged University of St. Thomas by one stroke.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Emma Cook of St. Thomas finished as tournament runner-up, posting rounds of 77 and 83 to finish at 160 (+16) at the SCAC Fall Preview. Led by Cook, Celt golfers finished 2-3-4 on the individual leaderboard to lead St. Thomas to a second-place team finish. Senior Kimberly Burch of Dallas, a three-time All-SCAC performer, led the Crusaders to a third-place team finish at the SCAC Fall Preview, posting a top-10 individual finish with rounds of 84 and 86 for a 170 (+26). She finished fifth at the LeTourneau/Tempest Invitational a week ago. First-year Belle Asbury of Texas Lutheran opened her collegiate career with a top 10 finish at the SCAC Fall Preview, carding rounds of 88 and 86 for a two-day total of 174 (+30). Senior Samantha Miethke of Concordia (Texas) finished 12th on the individual leaderboard, pacing the Tornados at the SCAC Fall Preview with a two-round total of 175 (83-92). Sophomore Micah Rabey of Schreiner posted the low score of the tournament for the Mountaineers, finishing the two-day SCAC Fall Preview with a final total of 177. Her final round 81 on Tuesday was the third-lowest score of the day. First-year Haylee Crowder of Centenary teed off her collegiate career by pacing the Ladies at the SCAC Fall Preview, finishing the two-day event with score of 181, good for a 15th-place finish among the 41-player field. Sophomore Kaitlyn Neel of McMurry led the War Hawks at the SCAC Fall Preview with a team-best two-round total of 167 (88-99) which placed her tied for 23rd on the individual leaderboard.
