ANDREW RENNINGER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Port Orchard, Wash., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Friday, October 25 to Sunday, October 27. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 3)
At Friday's University of St. Thomas Celt Classic, Renninger split at 54.8 for the 100 back as part of the winning 400 medley relay, and also garnered individual gold with a win in the 200 back with a time of 1:59.4.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Hunter Hedges of Centenary had an impressive performance for the Gents to a win at Millsaps College on Saturday in a dual meet in Flowood, Miss. Hedges won the 100 breast (1:04.96), 200 breast (2:27.83), and 200 IM (2:05.81) and was part of the Gents' winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:46.49). Sophomore Oscar Mayorga of St. Thomas dominated the weekend with three event wins. In the quad meet against UTRGV, McMurry, and Southwestern on Friday, he claimed victory in the 500 free. He continued his impressive performance the next day at the tri-meet against UTRGV and McMurry, winning both the 200 and 1000 free events, showcasing his versatility and endurance across multiple distances. First-year swimmer Wes Scalf of McMurry took first in the 100 free and second in the 200 IM against Southwestern and St. Thomas on Friday. The following day, he took first in the 100 breast and 100 free against St. Thomas. He was also on the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays on Saturday.
