Roy, a sophomore from Ontario, Canada, and Ellis, a first-year from Baton Rouge, La., posted a perfect 4-0 mark on the week, which included victories over the top line doubles teams from two nationally ranked teams - Kenyon's Luis Andres Platas and Eric Zhang (8-7) and Carnegie-Mellon's Nicholas Wernink and Matthew Poh (8-1). The seventh-ranked doubles team in the nation is 7-1 on the season for the 15th-ranked Pirates.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Hao Nguyen and sophomore Eric Liao of Trinity went 1-1 in doubles last week as the 11th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team split against No. 17 Gustavus Adolphus College and No. 18 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at the Stag-Hen Invitational over the weekend. Nguyen and Liao lost at line two against Gustavus, but battled back with a 6-2 win at line one doubles against Pomona. Sunday's win for the Trinity doubles duo came against the eighth-ranked doubles team in the nation: Pomona's Owen Kelley and Ethan Lee. Senior Carson Kirk and graduate student Austin Cervantes of Schreiner went 3-1 for the Mountainners at top line doubles, with the duo's only loss coming Saturday (8-6) against Concordia (Texas).
