Sharma continued to lead a Pirate defensive effort that allowed just six shots, two on target, in a pair of key SCAC wins over Dallas and Austin College at home last weekend. Led by Sharma, the Pirates have allowed just six goals in SCAC play this year, tied for the second fewest in the league, as Southwestern is now tied for second in the conference standings going into the final weekend of the regular season. Additionally, Sharma scored his team leading sixth goal of the year in the win over Dallas, which proved to be the game-winner.
Junior defender Curtis Hale of Colorado College led the Tigers to a 2-0 record last weekend, including a 3-2 victory over No. 22 Trinty last Friday. He also paced the Tiger defense that shutout Schreiner, 1-0, on Sunday and allowed just three total shots, two on target. Senior midfielder Ian Alvarez of St. Thomas was the heart of the Celt defense that allowed just one goal in a key SCAC win over Centenary. He limited the Gents offensive attack through the midfield and jumped in offensively with two assists. Junior defender Diego Roman of Texas Lutheran played a major role in the Bulldogs notching their 10th shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over Dallas on Sunday. The 10 shutouts on the year matches a program record heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
