SEGUIN, Texas – Fourth-seeded Southwestern University used a dominant pitching performance from starter Sophia Ytuarte as the Pirates earned a 3-0 win over third-seeded St. Thomas in an elimination game on Saturday evening of the 2024 SCAC Softball Championship. HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game remained scoreless until the third when Meghan McCarthy delivered an RBI double to right field that scored Erica Otto and gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead.
- Southwestern added to the lead with a Daniella Clark single to right center in the fourth inning.
- The Pirates then added an insurance run in the top of the seventhy when Riley Glenn-Millhouse delivered an RBI triple.
