Southwestern Eliminates St. Thomas From SCAC Softball Championship

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The game remained scoreless until the third when Meghan McCarthy delivered an RBI double to right field that scored Erica Otto and gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead. 
  • Southwestern added to the lead with a Daniella Clark single to right center in the fourth inning.
  • The Pirates then added an insurance run in the top of the seventhy when Riley Glenn-Millhouse delivered an RBI triple.

  • With the win, Southwestern improves to 32-26 all-time in the SCAC Softball tournament, including 1-2 against St. Thomas.  
  • St. Thomas moves to 7-4 in the SCAC postseason play.   
  • The Pirates move to 18-25 on the season. 
  • St. Thomas sees its season end with a mark of 24-14.

Southwestern advances to the loser’s bracket final where it will meet Trinity tonight at 8 p.m. St. Thomas is eliminated.
