TESSA LEWIS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore goalkeeper from Northbend, Wash., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14.
Lewis took over as the Pirate's second-half goalie and had seven saves of the 11 shots taken at goal in the team's 20-12 victory over Piedmont (Ga.) on Friday.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior defender Sophie Murphy of Colorado College set a career high with four caused turnovers, but the Tigers dropped a 16-7 result to Division II Colorado Mesa University on Friday. Her previous high of three was set during the 2019 season in the 12-8 victory at Hamline University and the 21-7 win over George Fox University.
