Senior Ashley Hunter of Centenary started the season opener and picked up the win as she went four innings and allowed just one earned run and six hits with three walks and two strikeouts. She faced 20 batters and threw 78 pitchers, 45 for strikes. Senior Kaylee Culpepper of Schreiner posted a 2.80 ERA in five innings of work in the Mountaineers opening series of the 2022 season. She allowed just six hits and two earned runs. Senior Lindsey Longuet of St. Thomas earned her first win of the season, pitching a complete game, going five innings allowing just one hit and two earned runs while striking out four. Junior Emery Boettcher of Trinity was settled with a tough luck loss in the opener for the Tigers, going seven complete innings, allowing just one earned run, while striking out two.
