Lauren Fulenwider, Southwestern University, Player of the Week (Week 10)

LAUREN FULENWIDER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior guard from Abilene, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 10 through Sunday, January 16. (Women's Basketball Weekly Release - Week 10)

Fulenwider broke the SCAC record for most 3-pointers made in a game with 10 and poured in a career-high 32 points in the Pirates 76-63 road win at Centenary to open the week last Wednesday. She then followed that performance up with seven 3-pointers in a seven-point road win at Austin College on Friday and then closed out the week connecting on 5-of-7 from beyond the arc in a 66-61 victory at Dallas on Saturday. For the week, Fulenwider averaged 22.7 points per game on a blistering 56.4 percent shooting from 3-point range (22-of-39) in guiding Southwestern to three-straight road SCAC wins for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Her record-breaking performance of 10 made 3-point field goals breaks the previous mark of nine, which was accomplished twice, most recently by Jordan Baker of Dallas back in 2012.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Filling in for starting point guard and SCAC assist leader Anna Fanelli, freshman point guard Laura Strenk of Colorado College recorded season highs of 13 points and eight assists and grabbed seven rebounds in last Saturday's 70-66 loss to Trinity. Sophomore forward Imani Hardin of Dallas averaged a double-double last week with 10.0 points and 14.7 rebounds as the Crusaders went 1-2 in three contests. In Dallas’ 82-75 non-conference win over Arlington Baptist, Hardin grabbed 21 rebounds, an SCAC season-high and tied for the 10th most in league history for the most rebounds in a single game. Senior guard Miranda Vallejo of Schreiner led the Mountaineers with 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steals in a key 68-62 win over St. Thomas on the road last Saturday. Junior forward Olivia Anga of St. Thomas averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.0 assist and 0.5 blocks per game in a pair of losses last week for the Celts. Sophomore forward Tanyse Moehrig of Texas Lutheran had a monster game in the Bulldog’s 60-64 road victory over Schreiner last Tuesday. Moehrig scored 14 points on 70 percent shooting (7-of-10) and grabbed 15 rebounds to go along with two blocks and one steal in the win. Junior guard Maggie Shipley of Trinity led the Tiger women's basketball team to a 4-0 record last week, including three SCAC victories to remain unbeaten in league play this season. Shipley averaged 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.8 steals per game last week. Additionally, she connected on 30-of-54 (55.6%) from the field in leading Trinity to the four victories. After 16 points and six rebounds in a win over Howard Payne, Shipley eclipsed her career-high with 26 points on 8-of-14 shooting in just 25 minutes at home against Dallas, adding five rebounds and four assists to her stat line. She finished the week with another 20-point game, hitting 10-for-20 field goals on her way to 22 points and a career-high six assists.
